As the birthplace of our modern nation, Waitangi is a place and concept that carries deep and significant cultural importance. Our challenge was to develop a brand for the Grounds, the governing Trust and educational activities.
The Treaty Grounds are a tourism attraction deserving of a world class destination brand, while the Trust governs and administers the Grounds. We needed two quite different identities as appropriate symbols for New Zealand’s pre-eminent historic site & the Trust that governs it.
We created identities that communicate the spirit of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the gravitas of the Waitangi National Trust & its remit, and the playfulness of Our Nation’s Children, an education programme.
